Where this sits. This page is the entry of the ladder: a machine-scored roster of candidate pairs, snapshot 2026-05-20, kept as it was scored. It issues no verdict and cites no lexicon. The exit of the ladder is the links page, where a pair that survived examination becomes an issued link with its layer named and its Arabic sense quoted from a named classical lexicon. A number here is a candidate; a number there is a verdict. They are not the same count and should never be added together.

Rebuilt 2026-08-07 with the current instruments: every entry of each branch corpus is stripped
to its consonant skeleton, its whole Arabic candidate fan is opened, and only then does the meaning bridge judge.
There is no invented score here. Each row carries an evidence tier: a direct witness is one where the
branch sense meets the Arabic root's own attested senses; circumstantial means it meets only the wording around them.
The last column says whether the pair has since been issued as a link with a quoted lexicon line
(see the links page). The earlier 2026-05-20 semantic-scored roster is kept in
data/legacy/.
